The New Colossus Freezing on Continue
Hello, AidenR2. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.
This can be caused by a driver conflict, by low PC specs or not having the right runtime tools to run the game.
Have you changed your CPU, GPU or motherboard and installed a driver without uninstalling the old one?
Also, does your PC have the recommended hardware to run Wolfenstein 2?

I install all the latest drivers whenever possible.
My specs are an i7-10700F, 16GB of DDR4 ram and an RTX 3070.
It was running fine for a few days when it suddenly stopped working.

Nice system there.
The 'VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST' error is an issue with the Vulkan graphics API. Even though you say your graphics drivers are the latest, I suggest you remove them completely with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)
-
Download the latest NVIDIA Driver and place it somewhere (do not install it yet).
-
Download and run DDU. Choose 'Clean and Restart'
-
When the PC reboots into Windows, install the driver you downloaded in the first step.
-
Run the game again.

I understand. Thanks for sharing the information.
Try to reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ programs. Download a fresh copy of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime from here and then install it:
https://docs.microsoft.com/cpp/windows/latest-s...
Make sure you download the correct version of it (x86 or x64). Restart your computer after the installation.
Also, please download and install the .NET Framework Runtime :
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2085155
Also restart your computer after the installation.
The last recommended download is the DirectX Runtime:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/detail...
Restart your computer and try to run the game again.
